The Poojaneeya Mata Kartar Kaur Ji International Eye Bank was inaugurated by Guruji on 1stApril, 2008. It has introduced intermediate term storage media. Additionally, operations like Lamellar Keratoplasty, Scleral grafts and Amniotic membrane transplants have now become a reality for the first time in the State of Haryana.
It attracts a flow of large number of needy patients from all over and has attracted large number of post mortem donations and ante mortem pledges.
The Hospital houses the associated Corneal Transplantation Centre which has evolved as a leading centre for corneal surgery. It has now started attracting patient's even from tertiary care centres like the AIIMS.
Compared to other hospitals, the waiting period is quite short due to the tremendously active donation program. The outcomes of surgery here are comparable with the best centres in the world. It has recently entered into an international collaboration for corneal endothelial stem cell bank.
